Our Engagement |
The pictures below were taken from a park ranger at the moment of the proposal. The top picture was taken less than a minute from when I dropped to my knees. The second pick below was five minutes later. Onomea Falls is in the background. The event almost never happened that day, as we were both tired from touring the parks on the East side of the Big Island and visiting the city of Hilo. Sharyn had wanted professional pictures taken that day in the city, but I had other plans! She grew frustrated and wondered why I was dragging her out to a rain forest park. She loosened up once she saw how beautiful the park was. It was shortly before the park was closing (at 5pm) when I convinced a park ranger to drive us to Onomea falls and take our picture (of my proposal of course). Sharyn was caught completely by surprise as she expected me to maybe do it later in the year. She was even trying to pull me up off of my knees to have our picture taken by the ranger (not knowing what I was trying to do). I ended up messing my proposal lines while she was tugging away.... but she said yes once she understoond (a big reason for her big smile in the first photo!). The time was approximately 5pm Hawaiian time. |
