There are many hostels,
hotels and houses for rent
between Mission Beach
and Pacific Beach.  Since
our wedding falls on a
long weekend (the first
long weekend of the
summer to be exact) the
beaches and roads will be
very busy.  Keep this in
mind when determining
whether to rent along the
beach while visiting San
Diego for our wedding!
Pacific Beach and Mission Beach are known as
the party beaches where many of the younger
crowd hang out, have a drink, eat at
restaurants and soak up the sun.  There are
many tourist shops, surf shops and other
businesses in the area.
Mission Beach is home
to Belmont Park. This is
an amusement park
along the waterfront and
features an old fashioned
rollercoaster and other
events.

Behind Mission Beach is
the Mission Bay, Crown
Point and Fiesta Island
parks.  These are family
oriented parks with a
beach, paved walkways
and picnic areas.

Note: Mission Bay has
had the occasional gang
violence in the past but
usually in the offseason.
Perhaps one of the most wide open and popular beaches for San
Diegans is on Coronado Island.  Next to the Hotel Coronado it
offers sweeping views of the ocean and San Diego coastline.
Located just north of
the boarder from
Tijuana, Mexico.
La Jolla Shores Beach and La Jolla Cove
offer a great location for idle walks along
shoreline.  A few blocks away are
upscale shops and restaurants to visit.
Close to UCSD and Scripps Green Hospital this is an
excellent beach for taking long walks or following trails
to the top of the cliffs.  Very scenic and a great place
to pick up sea shells if you are into collecting.
West of the famous horse racing
tracks of Del Mar. Plenty of
shopping and dining available in
the area.
Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Cardiff By the Sea and
Del Mar Beaches are community beaches in that the
majority of the business district and a substantial amount
of residential area are close to the beaches.
